This place is amazing. Through the instructors time and patience and genuine care for their students, I have been able to watch my son grow in so many ways. They teach martial arts fundamentals, but their social emotional lessons in how to be courageous, a good leader, being honest…. The time and attention they give to each family has helped build a true community. Most importantly, I’m my opinion, it has given my son male role models. Master Cunningham and Geddes have been monumental In Helping this single mama instill and cultivate life lessons in a meaningful way. My son was once incredibly shy, and wouldn’t be willing to try anything. I have watched my son truly blossom and thrive with this environment they have carefully created. 10/10.

My 7 year old daughter wanted to learn martial arts after we recently moved to Waco. We are so fortunate to have found Family Martial Arts of Texas. She has learned so much more than the physical act of Taekwondo. Every one of the instructors are all amazing and give her the focus and attention she needs. Her confidence, attitude, behavior and self esteem have all greatly improved and she has become quite skilled at the arts and has also been inducted into their Black Belt Club. It’s amazing to watch my daughter excel at something she loves and is good at and it was all her choice to join. This is the longest she has ever stuck with a sport or activity. I am an extremely proud father watching her excel and am thankful we found FMAT. Highly recommend.

My daughter started at FMA when she was five years old with some severe anxiety issues that made if very difficult for her to attend class. The amazing staff was so patient and kind with her, working with her to help her overcome her fears. You wouldn't believe how much confidence she has developed over the last two years. We are so grateful for the patience, perseverance, and respect she has learned, in addition to the physical training. Now our whole family is taking classes.

Family Martial Arts of Texas

Although many people think the martial arts are just about fighting, the truth is that the physical “kicking and punching” are really just the tools that I use to teach the more important, and MUCH more valuable lessons about yourself.
