Family Martial Arts of Texas has earned the reputation in Waco and China Spring, as well as Lorena, Robinson, Bruceville Eddy, Moody,Mcgreggor, Whitney, Valley Mills, Crawford, Bellmead, West, of being the top martial arts school for enriching our students’ lives and equipping them to face life with the winning edge.

James Londenberg is a 6th degree Black Belt with 40 years of Martial Arts experience.
He is a 4 time AAU national champion and Developer of the Family Martial Arts “Leadership Curriculum.”

Program Direction/Manager
Mrs. Slocum is the daughter of Grand Master Londenberg. She grew up training at Family Martial Arts of Texas and is an AAU National Champion. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education. She is excited to continue her passion of working with children here at Family Martial Arts of Texas.

2nd Degree Black Belt. Mr. Butler originally tested for his black belt in December, 2017. He began training with Family Martial Arts of Texas as a child. After moving out of Waco, Mr. Butler trained in various styles including MMA and Muay Thai. He is now back as a Family Martial Arts of Texas instructor!

Mr. Kwong is a 2nd degree Black Belt in Kuk Sool with 14 years of martial art experience. He is extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to continue teaching martial arts in Waco while studying Supply Chain and Management Information Systems at Baylor University.

Mr. Stegall is a 3rd degree black belt with 12 years of Taekwondo experience. He is excited to share his knowledge to students large and small; he is ready to make an impact in the FMAT community. Braxton is a Neuroscience Pre-Med at Baylor University.

Ms. Osborn is a 3rd degree black belt and has been doing Taekwondo for 12 years. She moved to Texas to study at Baylor University, where she trains and coaches in Baylor’s Taekwondo Club! Ms. Osborn has been instructing for 6 years and is a competitor in Olympic sparring. She loves martial arts and hopes to help young martial artists build their self-confidence.

Mr. Niemela has been training in martial arts for 8 years and is a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Ms. Miles is an instructor and student here at Family Martial Arts of Texas. She has been taking classes at the Woodway location for 5 years. Her experience has shaped her life by enforcing discipline, resilience, and self-confidence. “Over these past 5 years, Family Martial Arts of Texas has bettered both my physical and mental health, which has resulted in me feeling better and more intact within my daily activities. I have had the privilege to become an instructor, and help you or your child grow the same way my instructors have helped me grow.”

Bronwen Kirby has taught at FMAT for a year. She grew up with a passion for finding the best ways to learn, and has especially enjoyed the time she has been spending sharing this with others. She is excited to continue helping people to become the best they can be through mastering the art and finding a balance in life.
